Presentation #1 Flexing your PHP 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Presenter: Dave Stockton and Jay Whipple

David Stockton has been programming for over 22 years in numerous languages. He started working professionally with PHP in 1997 and still enjoys it every day. He has been coding in Zend Framework for the last 2 years, but has only recently started with Flex with about 6 weeks of very part time playing around with it, so please be gentle. In 2009 Dave became president of the Front Range PHP User group which meets monthly in Denver, CO. David has been married for 10 years to his beautiful wife, Kelley, who enjoys making custom 3D cakes (http://crazybeautifulcakes.com) and he has two wonderful daughters, Joey and Ana.

Jay Whipple is Principal of 111ELM Design, an interactive design and development agency specializing in delivering natural user experiences for applications and interactive presentations running on the Flash Platform.

Prior to startring 111ELM Design in 2006, Jay was the interactive design manager for the User Experience Group at Unisys Corporation. While at Unisys, starting in 1999, Jay spearheaded the effort to develop one of the first RIAs built on the Flash platform to monitor and administer enterprise class servers.

Flexing your PHP Presentation Description: From the new Data Centric Design capablities of Flash Builder to the traditional approach of developing applications utilizing the ZendFramework, Dave and Jay will show you the power of Zend and PHP. Dave and Jay will discuss how to use the Data Centric Design process to create small applications and rapid prototypes. Using Zend or evaluating Zend, Dave and Jay will show you how to use the existing strengths of the Zend Framework while leveraging the power of Flex.

Presenter: Stu Stern

Stu is the President and CEO of Gorilla Logic, an enterprise application development consulting firm specializing in Flex, Java and iPhone. He's also the creator of the open source testing tools FlexMonkey and FoneMonkey.

Prior to founding Gorilla Logic in 2002, he was Vice President of Worldwide Java Consulting at Sun Microsystems (now Oracle). Before that he was Vice President of Equity Trading Systems at PaineWebber (now UBS). He's been doing this stuff for more than 25 years.
